Learn essential concrete care and maintenance tips from True Blue Concreting. Keep your surfaces durable, clean, and long-lasting with our expert advice.
We often get asked how long people need to stay off there concrete after it has been poured, True Blue Concreting advises not to walk on your new concrete for 2 days after it has been poured and up to 7 days before driving on it. This ensures adequate curing time to avoid any risk of scuff marks, broken edges or loss of stones in exposed aggregate.
As a part of the curing process concrete absorbs moisture, we highly recommend watering your concrete daily for a minimum of 1-2 weeks after the pour has been completed. High tempuratures can dry the concrete too quickly and increase the risk of cracking.
True Blue Concreting highly recommends sealing your exposed aggregrate concrete as a measure of preserving its appearance and increasing longevity. Applying a protective coating over the surface of the driveway helps prevent damages like cracking, stains, water penetration, stone loss and enhances your concretes appearance.
It is advised to reseal your concrete every 3-5 years for optimal protection. Factors that may alter this include usage and climate. Our team at True Blue Concreting is always happy to offer advise and talk you through this process step by step.
